Presence verification protects the culture: a clarifying word on badge integrity

Colleagues, a brief and grateful note. After a careful review, Presence Integrity, the audit layer beneath Presence Timeline, our attendance system, found that a small number of badge patterns did not reflect a full day among us: a swipe just before and just after midnight to register two days, an entry made only to reach the gym. With a hiring freeze underway, the count owed everyone the same honesty, and we parted with roughly thirty colleagues per office, at least one per team, . Some held older accommodations; integrity, we have found, keeps no convenient calendar. Your badge does not measure where you are. It measures whether you meant it.

      Brittany, "at least one per team" is not a data finding. It is a quota. The badges were reverse-engineered to hit a number that existed before anyone swiped.

    the accommodation was approved in writing in 2022 and became severe misconduct in 2026, so the misconduct is just a permission we stopped honoring once the budget needed a reason. i would like the date my own approvals expire, so i can be home for it.
