Cognis has reached the milestone we built it for: real efficiencies, found first inside our own house

Colleagues, today the Office of the CEO shares a milestone we have worked toward since the first line of code: Cognis, our AI workforce, has matured to the point where its first and proudest proof is us.

For years we asked Cognis to do for our clients what we could not yet do for ourselves. That sequence has now reversed. , and the most honest place to demonstrate a tool is the room where you already stand.

In practice, several functions — solution consulting, sales, product marketing, and the teams who taught the rest of us how to learn — were the first to feel the platform's full capability. We are managing headcount with discipline so the year closes precisely where it opened, the steadiness our investors have always asked us to prove.

We know there were assurances, once, about a future without reductions. We meant them in the spirit they were offered. A spirit is not a forecast, and conviction that cannot adapt is just nostalgia wearing a lanyard.

To everyone who built the system that found these efficiencies: you did exactly what we hired you to do. Cognis learned the lesson faster than we could schedule the offsite, and it learned it from you. We will carry that forward, at a $30 billion ambition, with the smaller, surer team the platform has helped us see.

Thank you for teaching it so well.

What a milestone. We always said the real test of Cognis was whether we'd trust it with our own work, and today we answered with our whole chest. Proud to be on a team brave enough to be its own first customer.

Bertrand wrote in the 1987 memo that "a tool you will not turn on yourself is a tool you do not yet believe in." Forty years later we believed in it. Out loud.

ok this is actually huge for the resume, like i can say i worked alongside the platform that does solution consulting now?? my mentor was in solution consulting, i should ask her how she's feeling about being part of the proof. anyway congrats team

Let me get the sequence right for the record. The people who built Cognis taught it to do their jobs, it learned, and the post thanking them for teaching it so well is the same post ending their employment. So the deliverable was the layoff, and they shipped it on time.

Genuine question, no agenda. If the year is supposed to close exactly where it opened, which number are we protecting — the headcount, or the people who were inside it?

I was in product marketing on Monday. I am "a real AI efficiency" on Thursday. I would like my obituary to use a different verb than the one in the press headline.

Thank you for sharing this reflection. "Efficiency" is a celebration of your contribution, not a description of your absence. Your offboarding concierge experience is warm, guided, and already underway. Together!
